Current Staff
Ben Strazdas (President)
Howdy! My name is Ben Strazdas. I was made president of Anime Club in the summer of 2017. My goal is to create a place where anyone can feel like they belong and have a good time watching anime!

Former Staff

Jenny Eischeid (President)

Corbin McMahon (Vice President)

Hello all! I’m Corbin your Malevolent Tyrant king! All joking aside, I’m the VP of club for now. This is my 3rd year attending UNO, I am a library science major and I still have at least 2 years to go before I get everything done. My first anime was Dragonball Z way back before kindergarten and I’ve been in love with anime ever since. Some of my favorites include .HACK//sign, Rurouni Kenshin, and Persona 4 the Animation. I’m a video game nut, more than just a little bit brash, and prone to giving people a hard time, but feel free to tell me to knock my shit off. You can normally find me in the back room gaming with some of our other members. I’m also a member of security at Anime Nebraskon and will attempt to get you all to join staff throughout the year. hope to see you all at club this week!

Elrond Carper (Secretary)

Sean Michael Steiner (Treasurer)

Tony Ianacone (Former President)
Your all-powerful, all-knowing, all-forgetful leader dictator for the 2010-2011 school year. A comp-sci major who’d rather spend his time doing 3D animation or hacking the Wii. Might just be under the control of the raccoon suspiciously perched upon his head…

Brendon Renshaw (Vice President)

I am Brendon, I’ve been the Veep since 2008 and I’ve also been involved with Anime Nebraskon for about as long and am in charge of their Karaoke segments. I’m a computer science student, I have watched 192.56 days worth of anime according to, I play D&D and other pen and paper games, I have over 90 Star Wars Expanded Universe Novels and have read over 100 total, many multiple times. I have read all of Green Lantern since 1960 and Teen Titans since 1980. I’ve been known to cosplay every now and then and I do own some Gundam Models. I dare you to try and out nerd me!

Collin Hatter (Former Treasurer)

Ben Sloup (Former President, Former Secretary)
I am Ben: artist, anime fan, and Secretary of UNOtaku. Hajimemashite!
I recall slowly and steadily falling more in love with anime’s style, storytelling, and uniqueness since elementary school, longer if you count all the Japanese video games I loved and never knew were essentially derived/inspired/adapted from anime. I enjoy drawing; anime/toon is my preferred style and I intend on making a shirt design eventually. My favorite series include but are not limited to: Ranma 1/2, Soul Eater, Lucky Star, Kaichou wa Maid Sama, Squid Girl, Ouran High School Host Club, Haruhi Suzumiya, Love Hina (manga plz) and Cowboy Bebop. Some would say I’m slightly more Shōjo oriented.

Also, boobs are fun and harmless so ya’ll need to chill and hold your roll on the negs! High School of the Dead is a great anime. Give it a chance!

Dakota K. (Founder, Spiritual Liege)
Dak is one of the four founding members of UNOtaku. These days, he mostly just sits around organizing games in the back room instead of being active in the UNOtaku Leadership Cabal.
Outside of UNOtaku, Dak’s interests include mathematics, beer, Dungeons & Dragons, gardening, philosophy, Team Fortress 2, and speaking in the third person. He is also something of a music connoisseur (read: snob) and runs a blog of songs and artists he likes.

Nick Sandahl
Self proclaimed “Master of Mecha”, I’m a fan of all things hot blooded and giant robot. Although I do enjoy most other genre as well. If I’m not watching anime, I’m usually gaming. While not a student atm, I’m working on going back when I figure out a major. Currently writing anime reviews for our site.

Diana Moquin

My major in psychology with emphasis in relationship therapy. Favorite Animes: Fruits basket, Ouran HC, Soul Eater, High School of the Dead, Lucky Star, Sensual Phrase, and like everyone else, there are others which I’ll omit as there will be a never ending list. Everyone Else

Chris Mooter
I’m a senior at UNO (by hours… sigh) I do a lot of gaming on PC. Feel free to add me on facebook and ask me for my Steam profile’s link so you can add me if you like; just be sure to mention you’re from UNOtaku as I don’t accept random requests :/

I watch quite a bit of anime and read quite a bit of manga, but my favorite is Strike Witches for anime. So hard to choose -_-

Hey guys, I’m a junior at UNO now, actually been trying to come for the past dew years, but I was always working. I love all kinds of anime, favorites include Vandread and Hellsing. Hope to get to know all of you pretty well over my last two years. Hit me up on facebook if you want.

Is this how we put bios? Ah well, I’m Chris, a senior at UNO (by hours… sigh) I do a lot of gaming on PC. Feel free to add me on facebook and ask me for my Steam profile’s link so you can add me if you like; just be sure to mention you’re from UNOtaku as I don’t accept random requests :/

  3. Chris says:

Does one have to attend UNO to be part of this?

    • picano says:

Anyone can join. It might be a bit tough to find parking if you aren’t a student though . — But the metered spots become free after 7pm; the school does offer weekly, single day parking; you could find someone on our facebook page to meet up with; or… take a nice long walk from the closest free parking spot.

      • Chris says:

I’ll give it a shot! Not a student, but meh, very few clubs in the city. Since it’s summer, I gather the scheduled is the 6-9 postings?

        • picano says:

Correct. 6-9 in the Milo Bail Student Center, we’ll likely be on the 2nd floor in the ‘Chancellors Room’ (north side of the building) tomorrow.

          • Chris says:

Um…is anime popular with females or is it mostly guys here?

            • picano says:

              Haha, good question.

Nowadays it’s actually a fairly balanced group. In the previous year it may have even been a bit female dominated (which — guaranteed “Lovely Complex” and a couple other shows high votes through their completion).

Again, I encourage you to check out our facebook page if you’re interested in what kind of people attend — it may not be the most active page, but you’ll at least get a good feel by the member list.

  4. Chris M says:

I’ve been to the club once or twice, haven’t really gotten the time to go lately due to other prior activities which i’m committed to. I’m currently a senior at UNO graduating this december. I like a lot of animes, of which include One Piece, Hellsing, and Fairy Tail. I only know maybe 3 or 4 people there but would like to get to know more people and be able to hang out with said people on weekends.

  5. Kit says:

I have a nagging feeling I’m going to fail the quiz.

I’m Kit! I was one of the founders and am a former Treasurer. I’ve graduated and enjoy statistics, religion, anime, cigars, and booze!

    (Also, Magical Girls FTW)

  6. Tanner says:

I cant believe i found this right away on the UNO MavSync I hope that i will be able to meet some of you in the future. Also i am a huge anime fan who would always love recommendations for any anime that is great.

    • picano says:

Glad to have ya! I see you’ve already made your way to our facebook page which better for socialization — the site tends to get neglected outside my weekly updates / our voting page.
